Fresh Food for Healthy Life

There is no alternative to fresh food. Fresh foods have no side effects and also there is no need to worry about extra calories. They do not contain any preservatives so the problems of obesity, blood pressure and skin are also avoided. Now-a-days everyone is well aware about the negative effects of ready-to-eat and processed foods. Even then there is significant increase in the consumption of fast food and frozen food. According to an estimate 30 to 40 percent people consume fast food or junk food in one form or the other. At the same time, this percentage is even 50 in case of children in the age group of 4 to 19. We do not consume processed food just through above sources but through grocery store also. All the food items that are packed in can, box or bag, are processed. In fact, these food items are available so easily that we do not just think about their negative aspects. The complete generation is slowly getting engulfed in various diseases due to the processed food. There is only one solution to this problem and that is use of fresh food, fruits and vegetables. According to World Health Organization, processed food is the major cause of increasing trend of obesity in the people. Another study has shown that those children who take processed food on regular basis, they get 126 calories in excess and within some years their weight increase by 6 kilograms. From the last 50 years there is increasing trend of use of ready-to-eat breakfast such as cereals. These are excessively processed and they contain less fiber and more glucose that increases the danger of diabetes. Some processed foods contain fat in the form of trans-fatty-acids which is a dangerous form of fat. Human body undergoes changes due to processed food that increase the possibility of heart diseases. The presence of excessive salt in most of the processed foods causes even more danger to heart.
